By car:
- Follow the E6 until about 8 km past Ringebu. Turn right and follow Riksvei
(Rv) 27. You cross the wonderful “Venabygdsfjellet”. - When you have crossed the “Venabygdsfjellet” plain and descended you
arrive at a T-junction. - At the T-junction (Enden township) go left and follow Rv 27 in the direction of
Folldal. - From the bridge in Atnbrua it is another 1500 m. A conspicuous sign points
the way to Fjelltun (to the right). - The distance Oslo-Fjelltun is about 300 km.
It is not advisable to take this route during winter because the road across
Venabygdsfjellet is sometimes closed. The alternative route in winter is:
2. From Oslo follow the signs ‘E6-Trondheim’
- Follow the E6 until about 20 km south of Hamar. Turn right to Rv 3, direction
Elverum. - Just before Elverum turn left and continue following Rv 3.
- At Atna (about 25 km past Koppang) turn left and follow Rv 219 in the direction
of Folldal. - After approximately 40 km (at Enden) Rv 219 merges into Rv 27, direction
Folldal. - From the bridge in Atnbrua it is another 1500 m. A conspicuous sign points
the way to Fjelltun (to the right). - The distance Oslo-Fjelltun is about 300 km.
3. Coming from the north follow Rv 29 to Folldal
- At Folldal take Rv 27 direction Ringebu.
- After about 40 km a sign points the way to Fjelltun (to the left).
By (plane and) train
Direct flights to Oslo (Gardermoen) can be booked online. See

airlines, SAS and Norwegian).
From Oslo airport trains for Koppang and Atna leave several times a day. There
is a bus service to Folldal from these towns and upon your request the driver will
stop for Fjelltun in Atnbrua (travelling time from Koppang 1 hour and 40 minutes).
