- Cross-country skiing
The cross-country skiing season starts at the end of January and ends around 15th
April. There are various starting points for easy and strenuous trails. Fjelltun is one
of those starting points. Cross-country skis can be hired nearby.
- Dog sled rides
Near Folldal (at driving distance, 45 mins.) you can go on dog sled rides varying
in length from half a day to a full day. Prior to the ride you meet the dogs and are
instructed in the art of dog sledding. The day ride includes a lunch break.
- Alpine skiing
A day of alpine skiing makes a nice change. There is a ski slope on Venabygdsfjell
(a 30-minute drive) and the ski fanatics could opt for Kvitfjell (over an hour).
- Snow shoe walking
This is an ideal way of getting to know the countryside. Fjelltun is the starting point of
various beautiful walks. Snow shoes can be hired on the premises.
- Photography
For a photographer every season in Rondane is a feast for the eyes because of the
play of light and sky Norway is known for. Rondane plains present the most beautiful
vistas.
- Ice fishing
Lake Atnsjø (at walking distance) and other lakes nearby are well-known as the
places to catch tasty mountain trout. Ice fishing is a favourite winter pastime around
here. Fishing permits are for sale on the premises and the local supermarket stocks
fishing gear for ice fishing.
